Digital x-rays reduce the amount of radiation needed as compared to film x-rays. The improved diagnostic capability of digital x-rays and the ability to view the x-rays on a computer screen allow the patient to better understand and follow treatment. Digital x-rays are instant, so there is no longer a need to develop the film. Digital x-rays save time and increase patient care. It’s also a very green technology. By eliminating film, developer and chemical waste, digital x-rays are better for both the patient and the environment!
Ultra Violet Caries Detection
This technology enables us to practice minimally invasive dentistry by providing a better possibility of diagnosing this disease at an early stage. The use of ultra violet light to aid in detection caries and fractures above the gum line is another technology in our arsenal that is extremely beneficial in adjunct to X-rays. Detection of occlusal caries, proximal caries and initial caries can all be viewed on the computer screen by doctor and patient in real time. Best part of this caries detection is there is no radiation required.
The use of specialized imaging enables us to see details down to the millimeter for enhanced Implant placement. Additional magnification and illumination allows us to work with great precision. We are able to more accurately diagnose and treat conditions and to control the potential outcome from “good” to “excellent”. As well, imaging such as digital intraoral photographs allows our team to both enhance patient communication as well as document treatment.
Soft Tissue Lasers
Soft tissue lasers are used for periodontal (gum) surgeries. These lasers are more efficient, cause less discomfort, promote a faster healing time, and decrease the risk of infection, providing a better outcome.
Soft Tissue Laser are an integral part of cleaning an extraction socket after non-traumatic extractions, making the site free of disease so Same Day Dental Implant placement and Bone Grafting are possible. This technology saves time, where otherwise three months time would be lost before a Dental Implant can be placed in an infected site.
We also utilize Soft Tissue Lasers to eradicate unhealthy tissue around existing Implants, helping to reduce loss of bone height around an aging Dental Implant. This technology enhances bone grafting around these Dental Implants to better secure their integration with the surrounding bone tissue.
Digital Intraoral Cameras
An intraoral camera combines the latest video technologies with dental care. Both the patient and dentist can see detailed images of the teeth and mouth in real time. With an intraoral camera, patients are able to better understand what is happening and review the status of their oral health.
Oral Cancer Screening
Oral cancer affects thousands of Americans yearly. We use the latest technology to detect changes in oral tissue consistencies and/or lesions. We shine a UV light into the mouth to detect unhealthy tissue. Healthy tissue looks lighter under the light while spots of bad tissue appear dark. For this reason and for definitive clarification, we often send tissue biopsy out for tissue testing.
Ultra Quiet Electric Handpieces
These handpieces provide less vibration and noise than traditional dental drills. They are quieter and more efficient in Dental Implant bone preparation, making Dental Implant procedures shorter and more manageable.
Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Using Electronic Medical Records, our practice is able to quickly and accurately access patient information in order to provide the utmost in patient care. This helps to ensure patient confidentiality as well as reduce the need for paper. Using a digital format allows for quick access to patient information when needed for insurance records while providing a secure filing system.
Digital Flat Screen Monitors
These television monitors are found next to every patient chair. Patients can view their dental x-rays when speaking to our team about the findings for a better understanding of their oral health.
Our office offers free Wi-Fi for our patients use while visiting our office.
